The Ortega RMA5VS is an 8-string A-style mandolin crafted to produce rich, resonant tones with a comfortable feel and versatile dynamics for acoustic musicians. The body features an arched mahogany top and arched mahogany back and sides, yielding a clear, full acoustic voice, all coated in an open-pore vintage sunburst satin finish. The mahogany neck has a smooth satin finish and an integrated 2-way truss rod for stability. An ovangkol fretboard hosts 20 frets and is integrated across the 345mm (13.58-inch) scale length, featuring a 28mm (1.125-inch) nut width. Tonal power is delivered by the resonant all-mahogany body construction. Aesthetic detailing includes F-holes and ABS inlays. Hardware appointments include an ovangkol bridge and Ortega geared diecast tuners, ensuring precise tuning stability.
